The Santiam River Bridge in Jefferson will experience 24-hour single lane closures for two weeks starting March 24, according to an announcement. The closure is necessary as crews work on improving the safety and driving surface of the bridge.

Motorists should anticipate flaggers directing traffic, work vehicles entering the road, construction noise, and possible delays. Caution is advised when traveling through the area during this period.

The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) encourages residents to visit their project webpage for more information about ongoing and upcoming construction projects in the community. The interactive map on their site provides details on various projects underway.

ODOT reminds drivers that fines double in all Oregon work zones regardless of whether workers or signs are present. They urge the public to share this information with friends, family, and neighbors to ensure everyone is informed about the upcoming changes.

For those needing ADA Title II or Civil Rights Title VI accommodations or translation services, ODOT offers assistance through TTY at (800) 735-2900 or via the statewide Oregon Relay Service at 7-1-1. Spanish speakers can also call TTY for translated project information.

Travelers are advised to check TripCheck.com or call 5-1-1 for up-to-date road conditions and traffic alerts. Additionally, beginning May 7, travelers will need a federally accepted ID to fly domestically within the United States.
