Crews are making progress on the Mill Street Reconstruction project, which aims to enhance safety for all modes of transportation. As part of this initiative, Sub Electric, a utility partner, will relocate power lines to newly installed poles on Saturday, March 22. This work will result in temporary power outages for traffic signals at Main Street and Mill Street. Power is expected to be restored the same day but could remain out through the weekend if necessary.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution while driving in the area during this period.

The reconstruction project involves rebuilding Mill Street between A Street and Centennial Boulevard. The work includes single-lane closures on Mill Street from South A Street to Centennial Boulevard, with northbound traffic shifted westward and southbound traffic rerouted around the work zone via adjacent streets. Pedestrian crossings will be limited, with signed detours in place. Parking on Mill Street is not permitted during construction.

Work hours are scheduled from Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., with crews active during these times.

Safety remains a priority in work zones; drivers are urged to slow down and adhere to posted signs as fines double in Oregon work zones regardless of worker presence.
