Oregon 99, also known as the Rogue River Highway, is undergoing a seismic retrofit project managed by the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT). As part of the ongoing work, the Foots Creek Bridge is set to close for approximately 30 days starting the second week of April 2025. During this period, traffic will need to follow alternative routes.
According to the ODOT, "the project is replacing bridge structures at Birdseye Creek, Foots Creek, and Millers Gulch for earthquake resilience." The construction has been estimated to run from November 2023 to June 2025. Any changes to these dates can be checked on the project's official webpage. Closure information is also available on Trip Check.
ODOT has ensured that transit needs are met during the closure by providing a pedestrian transport vehicle (PTV). This vehicle can accommodate at least two ADA passengers, a maximum of ten able-bodied pedestrians, and up to three bicycles with a secured rack.
