Striping crews will commence highway markings in Pendleton during the week of April 14, aiming to enhance road visibility and safety. The project will start in Baker City and reach Pendleton by Wednesday. Work will be conducted between 2 a.m. and 7 a.m. to limit local traffic disruptions.
Efforts will expand throughout April to Hermiston, Interstate 84, and Interstate 82. The exact locations and timings outside Pendleton are flexible and might change. Travelers are advised to be cautious in active work zones, expecting lane closures and reduced speeds, and to avoid driving over wet paint. Whenever possible, it is recommended to choose alternate routes or postpone travel.
The work involves applying new markings such as lane lines, turn arrows, and pedestrian crosswalks for improved safety. Questions can be directed to Vicki Moles, Community Affairs Specialist, at 541-620-4527 or via email at vicki.l.moles@odot.oregon.gov.
