Travelers on OR 126W near milepost 19, five miles east of Mapleton, should anticipate delays and closures as crews work to clear rocks and debris from the east side of the Pederson Tunnel, also known as the Knowles Creek Tunnel.
On February 19, OR 126W will experience a closure for one hour starting at 8 a.m. Following this closure, flaggers will manage traffic in 20-minute intervals from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The following day, February 20, work will continue with similar 20-minute traffic holds throughout the day, contingent on weather conditions.
A final one-hour closure will be necessary once the work is completed to safely remove heavy equipment from the area.
Motorists are advised to plan for delays or consider alternate routes. Travelers are urged to stay alert, follow flagger instructions, and watch for crews working in the area.
