Vikings Add Lindsay LaMont to Women's Soccer Staff

Portland State women's soccer head coach Katie Burton has added to her staff for the upcoming season, announcing the hire of former Pac-12 goalkeeper Lindsay LaMont on Monday.

A 2020 graduate of Oregon State University, LaMont played five seasons with the Beavers, recording 55 saves during her career.

"I am excited to announce Lindsay joining our coaching staff," Burton said. "She was highly recommended by many seasoned coaches in the Portland area. Her main focus on the field will be training our three goalkeepers, as well as assisting in running our backline. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience as she played at a very high level in the Pac 12 during her playing days. She is also a much needed addition to the office and will be helping Mo and I with administrative and compliance tasks. She is organized, driven and a self-motivator. This allows for more focus and attention to detail on what the team needs on the field to reach our ultimate goal of winning the title of the Big Sky Conference."

In 2018, LaMont started six matches in goal for the Beavers, finishing the season with 47 saves and notching a career-high 12 saves vs. No. 1 Stanford. The Beaverton, Ore. native and Jesuit High School alum was named Most Inspirational Player in her final year with the Beavers. A 2019 Pac-12 Honor Roll selection, LaMont graduated with a degree in Nutrition/Dietetics and a minor in Psychology. She holds a license as a Registered Dietitian (RD) and is the owner of Montli Wellness, a private nutrition practice based in Oregon.

LaMont is the goalkeeper coach at NW Elite FC, where she works with goalkeepers from age u11-u18.
