The Meacham Creek and Union Pacific Railroad Bridge will be closed starting March 15 for a complete replacement. The closure is expected to last until October. A detour will be available to guide travelers around the work site via I-84 Exit 234, near Emigrant Springs State Park.
The bridge, originally built in 1925, requires replacement due to extensive deterioration, increasing maintenance costs, and potential safety concerns.
During the closure, there will be no access for vehicles, bicycles, or pedestrians between Meacham and Exit 238. Traffic will be directed around the closure through a signed detour at I-84 Exit 234.
