The Oregon DMV's Lincoln City office, located at 4422 N.E. Devils Lake Blvd., is closed today due to staffing issues. Those needing DMV services can check for real-time office closures on the Oregon DMV website and explore options to complete their services online at DMV2U.

Chris Crabb, a spokesperson for the Oregon Department of Transportation, can be contacted for media inquiries at chris.c.crabb@odot.oregon.gov or by phone at 971-304-9705. Customers with questions are advised to call 503-945-5000 or visit oregondmv.com.

An important change is coming soon regarding identification requirements for domestic travel and access to certain federal facilities. Beginning May 7, 2025, individuals aged 18 and older will need to present a REAL ID or an acceptable alternative, such as a government-issued passport, passport card, or military ID, to board commercial flights in the United States. REAL IDs will also be necessary for entry into specific federal facilities like military bases or nuclear plants.

Oregon provides both standard issue and REAL ID-compliant driver's licenses, instruction permits, and identification cards. The DMV advises that if you are not planning to fly soon, it may be practical to wait until your current credential needs renewal before obtaining a REAL ID. Alternatively, using a passport remains an option.
